A trip to Dia:Beacon

A very beautiful and sunny weekend is the perfect time for a city getaway. A trip to Dia Beacon is just a perfect mix between art, nature and architecture.

We hopped on the trian at Grand Central at 12:43 (missed the 11:43 train) and arrived at Beacon Station around 2:30pm. Dia:Beacon museum is just a 5-10 minute walk away. The museum overlooked the Hudson River with its own beautiful garden. Unfortunately, all the leafs are gone but I can imagine how beautiful it must have been. The museum is ‘hugeeee’ so it’s a good idea  to arrive earlier than 2:30 because the museum closes at 4pm., which left with to little time to see all the exhibitions so we’ll definitely come back next time right when the museum opens!

After the museum we took a walk to Main Street for dinner. It was quite a walk up the hill but only takes around 15 minutes. The town is full with cute little craft stores, galleries and gift shops. Also local family restaurants, which I prefer than eating at a chain restaurant. We ended up eating at BJ soul food restaurant (good price + great quantity!). Then took a 6 o’clock train back to reality :/
